Australian jewellery retailer Michael Hill International has unveiled its new flagship store in Chadstone as part of an ongoing brand revitalisation.
The Melbourne location has been described as the ‘first of many’ concept stores that will be opened across Australia, New Zealand, and Canada over the coming years as part of the brand overhaul.
The store features exclusive artwork titled ‘Infinity, 2024’ by artist Dina Broadhurst.
Chief executive officer Daniel Bracken hosted the opening, and founders Sir Michael and Lady Christine Hill were also in attendance.
Guests included Anna Robards, Francesca Hung, Olympia Bellchambers, Rebecca Harding, Eleanor Pendleton, and Dominique Elissa.
“Since opening our first store in 1979, my wife and I have always ensured store experience remained at the centre of our brand,” Sir Michael Hill said.
“We are absolutely thrilled with what Michael Hill has created in this first global flagship, as it embodies our passion for design and fine jewellery, paired with Lady Christine’s creativity and passion for storytelling through her window displays.
“I especially love the innovative concept of discovery, offering customers a sense of exploration, encouraging guests to wander and discover the store and product at their own pace, providing a more personalised and immersive experience.”
The store’s design was a collaboration between Michael Hill and the retail creative agency The General Store.
The store was designed and constructed over 18 months, and Bracken described it as a modern representation of the company’s legacy and its vision for the future. It was recently confirmed that Miranda Kerr is the company’s first global ambassador.
