Istanbul Jewelry Show aims to surpass previous fair’s performance - Artificial Jewellery


Undaunted by the resurgence of COVID cases at the start of the year, the 51st Istanbul Jewelry Show will push through on 24 to 27 March at the Istanbul Expo Center in Turkey.

Hoping for the same success of the previous exhibition in October last year, organisers are expecting to register more than 1,250 domestic and international exhibitors to showcase their latest jewellery, equipment, accessories, software and other industry-related products. 

The International Gemological Institute has been named as a major sponsor for the event and around 30,000 participants are expected to visit the show.

More than 1,500 buyers and traders from North America, Europe, Middle East, North Africa, and Far East have been registered with the show’s International Buyer Delegation Program established by the Turkish Ministry of Trade.

The program is expected to generate around 80 per cent of Turkey’s jewellery and industry exports this year.

According to Sermin Cengiz, founding partner UBM Rotaforte, the success of last year’s fair “had a tremendous impact on the jewelry sector all around the world” which saw a record-breaking attendance and sales from delegates coming from the US, Europe, Russia, and the Middle East.

In order to maintain a COVID-safe environment, the fair will be held in accordance with InformaMarkets’ Informa Allsecure health and security standards.

This includes enhanced cleaning protocols, non-contact registration and physical distancing, screening for COVID-19 upon entry, and compulsory face masks.

Launched in 1986, the upcoming fair is organised by UBM Rotaforte and InformaMarkets, the latter of which also presents a number of other international jewellery fairs, including the Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair.
