Colombia’s Muzo Emerald and Argyle Pink Diamonds of Australia have announced the launch of a new collaboration in the Green Jewel collection using rare Colombian emeralds and Argyle pink diamonds.
The Earth Magic II is a pendant designed by Singapore-based Australian John Glajz, an Argyle Pink Diamonds Icon partner.
The pendant features a super gem-quality 7.66-carat Muzo emerald for the centrepiece and is accented by a rare 0.43-carat fancy purplish red and 1.06-carat signature pink Argyle diamonds.
The pendant is surrounded by white diamond baguettes and a double halo setting of Argyle pink diamonds weighing a total of 0.31 carats set in 18-carat rose gold and platinum.
It also features an elaborately detailed back design with an ‘M’ set in white diamonds and even more of Argyle’s vibrant pinks – a double entendre for “Muzo” and “Magic.”.
“The Earth Magic ll pendant is a tribute to the earth’s alchemy,” Glajz said.
It is the second precious fusion of the finest pink and green gems from two famous mines, Argyle and Muzo represented by an exceptional jewel in the Earth Magic series of our unique Green Jewel collections.”
That partnership between Muzo and Argyle began four years ago with the Green Jewel collection. The Earth Magic I broke the record as the highest-selling Colombian emerald auctioned to date.
Jason Woods, CEO, Muzo said, “Through our collaboration with Argyle we have found a forward-thinking brand with a similar ethos to ours, and yet another opportunity to tell a story through two powerful, legendary gemstones.”
He added, “With our newest work, we continue to honour the heritage and history of our celebrated Muzo mine in Colombia.”
Glajz was also responsible for two other projects with the initial undertaking called The Green Jewel Collection, followed by The Green Jewel Collection Encore.
Colombian emeralds are known for their remarkable quality and the Muzo emerald mines are one of the foremost sources of the gemstones. Emeralds are also commonly sourced from Brazil, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Ethiopia.
The only Argyle pink diamonds available are the remaining polished stones in inventory. Rio Tinto, the owner of Argyle Mine, closed the mine in late 2020 after more than 30 years of operation.
