The Natural Diamond Council (NDC) will collaborate with eight manufacturers and a brokerage firm in what’s been described as a ‘strategic alliance’.
Since the departure of Alrosa due to the conflict in Ukraine, the industry body has sought to broaden its sources for funding.
Shree Ramkrishna Exports, Hari Krishna Exports, Rosy Blue, Venus Jewel, Diarough, Dianco, Jewelex, Shivam Jewels, and the Bonas Group will each now support the NDC.
CEO David Kellie said: “I would like to thank each partner for putting their trust in the NDC. Their leadership in the industry demonstrates their long-term commitment to building prosperity for the benefit of their employees, their communities and to the wider industry.”
“They share common values as members of the Responsible Jewellery Council, but each has a unique and powerful story that we look forward to sharing more broadly with the industry.”
Kellie also acknowledged the ongoing support of the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council in the statement.
As part of the collaboration the council will work with each manufacturer to create content about their heritage, expertise, and ethical practices.
It’s been a busy few weeks for the marketing organisation, having recently announced new agreements with the World Federation of Diamond Bourses and Antwerp’s Diamantkring.
